Instructors in Tromsø

In Tromsø, two of our longest-standing members are based.

Jens Peder and Erik have been members and instructors in the club since 2010 and have been instructing since 2012! Our branch in Tromsø is as far as we know the world's northernmost HEMA club and has a large offering in relation to the number of members and the city's size. In Tromsø you can learn to fence with longsword, montante (extra long sword) and sword & buckler.

Jens Peder Magnussen

Jens Peder has been doing HEMA since 2010 and has been an instructor in Tromsø since 2012. He has extensive experience with sword & buckler, longsword and montante. He has participated in many tournaments in the Nordic scene as a competitor, judge and official. Jens Peder is trained in archaeology and has worked for 10 years as an archaeologist!

Erik Varberg

Erik has been doing HEMA since 2010 and he has been the main instructor in longsword in Tromsø since 2012. He also instructs in montante and sword & buckler. Erik has extensive experience as a longsword fencer and has participated in several tournaments as a fencer and judge.
