Oslo Penguin Cup 2026

Oslo Penguin Cup returns on 10–11 October 2026! Once again we invite all historical fencers to Oslo for the 7th edition of the Oslo Penguin Cup for a weekend full of fencing! Like every Penguin Cup, the event will feature many weapons, dedicated women’s tournaments, top international competitors, while also being welcoming for newer fencers.

Registration, weapons, divisions and preliminary schedule will be available on Sunday 7 June.

For now you can mark this weekend in your calendars and make your plans! As always, sleeping in the hall is an option for anyone wanting to save a bit of money.

See you in Oslo!

Registration

Registration is done via our ticketing system Hoopa. All tournaments must be paid in advance on a first come first serve basis. If a tournament is full you can send us an email to be put on the waiting list. If you have registered and are unable to attend please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to provide a refund until at least 1 month before the event.

Beginners

The beginner’s tournaments are only for people who consider themselves beginners and have participated in at most 2 other tournaments at the time of Oslo Penguin Cup 2026 (any weapon, internal club tournaments excluded). We encourage beginners to also sign up for open/women’s tournaments.

Sidesword Tiers

The sidesword tournament is tiered, meaning that the pool of fencers will be split in two different tiers before the tournament. The tiers will be based on ratings and experience and balanced to create the best experience for fencers in both tiers. You can note your preference when registering and you can always choose to be put in Tier A if you prefer to face the toughest competition.

Contact and information

If you have any questions or requests you can send us an email on post@frieduellister.no. Any important updates will be sent by email to everyone that have registered for the event.
